Hadn't planned on getting a sport model, but that may convince me. But the overall execution is very different: it’s modern, almost playful, and decidedly sporty. The 'Glacial' on the sport is killer in light/ice blue sunburst. Generally speaking, the Sector is loosely inspired by sector-dialed watches, hence the name. The date wheel font on the Sector Dive was criticized for being too small to read, so Nodus increased the font size accordingly. It seems like that would be a simple enough design brief, but there are so many examples of watches like this that don’t quite work – it speaks to the fickle nature of these things, and the importance of small details. These watches have a traditional 3-6-9 dial layout, which certainly recalls Rolex’s Explorer, but has become shorthand through the decades as a tried and true sports watch, nothing more, nothing less. Like the Pilot, the Sector Sport launches in three variants: Rift (black), Peak (white), and Glacial (baby blue).
